When Life gets you Down ....Overcoming Despondency

Without doubt the world we live in is a mixture of different personalities, all at various levels of evolvement.

We all have our own slant on life and what we consider to be acceptable and unacceptable behaviour.

One of the biggest challenges we face is being able to get along with others.  Everyone has different karma, different things to experience on the Earth Plane, and for that reason we must remember not to make sweeping judgements on others.  There may be more to the situation than we are aware.  A bigger picture maybe?

It can be very difficult sometimes to rise above the pettiness and greed of others, and overcome feelings of being hurt and let down, but the alternative is to allow ourselves to become swamped by feelings of futility:

 What’s the Point?

So, we have to find a way of accepting that sometimes others will behave in a way that may leave its mark and rather than let this drag you down, remind yourself that you have a choice in how you choose to deal with it.

Are you going to allow the behaviour of others  to affect  your Self Worth?

Are you going to allow the behaviour of others to affect your Happiness?

The next time something happens that upsets or disappoints you, before you react ask yourself what it is that you would like to happen.  And then consider if the way you propose to respond is likely to bring you closer to achieving the desired outcome.

Always check your motive.  What is your motive behind your Action?  What do you Intend to Happen?

We cannot control what others say or do.  We can Hope our friendship, decency or love will be reciprocated but we cannot Expect.  Unconditional love means No Strings Attached, so perhaps if a relationship is not going the way we would like then we have the right to withdraw to protect ourselves and others from unproductive emotions, but we do not have the right to Judge.

There is a greater Power far more qualified than us to stand in Judgement.

We often forget that Free Will means we Always Have a Choice.  Karma is an accumulation of our Choices both positive and negative.  At the end of our life our Choices  count.  They are taken into consideration and form the foundation upon which future lives are formulated.

Choices we make that are governed by over sensitivity and acute insecurity may be things we need to address - it's not just the obvious traits like cruelty and greed that may be stalling our growth.

Perhaps the actions of others are providing us with an opportunity to experience and deal with something that we need to learn from and overcome.

The ancient teachings of Qabalah can be explored using the Tree of Life.  The sephiroth on the Tree of Life highlight aspects within our personality that perhaps we are not aware of.  Each sephirah has a vice and virtue.  The vices are what trip us up.  The virtues are what we are aspiring to achieve.  The Qabalistic Tree of Life offers really practical and simple guidance if we are prepared to look.

Let others get on with their own life.  Rest assured that if there is a lesson they need to experience then so be it.  It is not for us to decide what others need to learn. We must only focus on our own life, our own experiences and judge only ourselves in any given situation.  It is our Attitude that holds the key and opens the door to moving forward.  We are all each others Teacher.  We can all learn from one another.  Even if all we learn from someone else is How not to Behave.

The series of workbooks produced by the Order of the White Lion and Isis Tuition focus very much on handling the real issues of life and finding workable solutions to coping with things like disappointment.  The practical approach used in exploring this Ancient Wisdom can help us move forwards from what we often perceive to be  unfair, inconsiderate and selfish behaviour.

Easy to follow practical Qabalah Workbooks

The Order of the White Lion and Isis Tuition have produced a series of workbooks exploring the Qabalistic Tree of Life.  These workbooks have been specifically designed to help those who wish to make a difference to their life.  They make no promises of quick fixes.  Instead the Workbooks try to explain - in simple and practical terms - why certain things happen to us, and how we can take more control over our lives rather than be swept along by events and circumstances.

To help you decide if these books may be of use to you, please read the reviews and find out what others have to say.

The workbooks offer everything you could want, from a complete introduction to the sephirah, to a challenge to understand it at a deeper level.

Each workbook contains the information required to fully appreciate what each aspect of the Tree of Life represents, and offers you a number of images that allow you to get the details straight in your own mind as to what that sephirah means to you.  Alongside that knowledge, however, is the challenge: how can I incorporate what I now know into my life, to let my life run more in tune with the Tree’s teachings?

The books let you go into as much or as little detail as you want, and the exercises help you learn more about yourself.  The details given help you but there is always the teaching as well that it is your own personal journey, and no one can really tell you exactly what you will see, feel or experience along the way.  It encourages you to embrace this and run with it.

Each workbook helps you understand a little piece of who you are, and how to use what you have most effectively.  But put together, they are a powerful tool to take control of your life and it’s direction.

Time for a Spiritual Spring Clean?

It is very easy to look at others and the life they are leading, and make comparisons.  Some people seem to sail through life.  Everything they touch turns to gold.  While others struggle just to keep ticking along.  Religious organisations, and spiritual centres provide sustenance and comfort to many - not just those who are vulnerable and struggling but also to those who feel something is missing from their life, and those who feel driven to put their life to better use.  Perhaps to help others.

Qabalah is another way we can find a sense of peace, of belonging and perhaps of coming home.

Through studying and exploring the practical Qabalah we can help ourselves to stay on track to live happy and satisfying lives, as well as achieving a sense of fulfilment.

The Qabalah is not a religion.  It is a Way of Life.  The teachings cover all aspects of life on earth and explain how the whole of humanity are at different levels of evolvement.  They also help us to understand that we all have different life lessons to experience, and to appreciate the purpose of Karma and why some people's lives seem truly blessed, while others appear to be strewn with challenges.  It is nothing to do with punishment - more about Realisation.

These ancient teachings are still as relevant in today's world as they have always been - passed down through the ages by word of mouth.  However, in a world besotted with the idea of quick fixes and material wealth - the Qabalah is not going to be popular with everyone. Students need to be self motivated and disciplined.  Integrity and Humility are also key requirements.

The journey we travel through life challenges us on many levels.  By applying the practical teachings we automatically start to live better lives.  The teachings are not exclusive to intellectuals, and those with a gift for understanding the intangible and deeply profound.  They are simple and effective, and outline the route to finding a sense of purpose and peace.

We are all blessed with the gift of Free Will.  This means we always have a choice in the way we react and respond to people, situations and events.  We will all eventually return to the Source of all Creation - some more speedily than others.  What the practical Qabalah does, is help us on our way, and by making choices and decisions in line with the true nature of who we are, we can start to live the life that is Right for Us and bring Heaven down to Earth.
